The Forêt de Paimpont, 7000 hectares in the interior of Brittany, is not virgin forest, but still draws heavily on its association with the Brocéliande of the Arthurian legends as told by Chrétien de Troyes. Here you can see what is claimed to be Merlin's tomb and the Val sans Retour where Morgane supposedly ensnared faithless lovers.
