The British Library

OK, so this is only tangentially related to The Beatles. Sarah's a librarian and so a visit to London would be incomplete without also visiting The British Library.

However, there is a Beatles connection. One of the truly stunning exhibitions here is the "Treasures of the British Library" where you can see original handwritten notes by Leonardo da Vinci and fragments of apocryphal gospels, hear samples of the earliest sound recordings ever made. And among this library's preservation and display of human society's intellectual treasures ... see the Beatles exhibit with handwritten lyrics on envelopes and other scraps of paper. Despite what is printed on the record labels, it really was "I *wanna* hold your hand".
